Great Backyard Bird Count

Kids can join in the annual Great Backyard Bird Count Feb. 12 through 15. For at least 15 minutes, keep track of birds observed in your backyard, a nearby park, or another spot during any or all of the count days, then enter the findings online. The data collected helps scientists understand bird population numbers and distribution across the continent. Look online for a bird guide, kids' activities and a checklist of birds that live in your area. FREE. www.birdsource.org/gbbc/kids.
